On 26 April 2026, Glebe U9 Jaguars hosted Parkhouse Panthers in Chislehurst in a 7-a-side fixture kicking off at 10:30am. In a competitive and energetic encounter, Glebe came away with a well-earned 3–1 victory.

Glebe set up in a 2-3-1 formation and, after a slightly slow start, did well to grow into the game. The defence & keeper stood strong under early pressure, while the midfield worked tirelessly to regain possession and drive the team forward. As confidence built, Glebe began to put together some excellent passages of play, with strong runs and good attempts creating problems for the Panthers.

The first half remained closely contested, but Glebe showed great discipline and determination to stay organised and in control. After the break, Alex battled well to help get the team back into the game and made a huge impact by scoring twice, showing real determination and composure in front of goal.

As the momentum shifted, Glebe stepped it up another level. Their attacking play became more fluid, and when the chance came, Ben delivered a moment of déjà vu... proving lightning really does strike twice with a goal that echoed last week’s effort, sparking celebrations on the sidelines.

Continuing our trend from last week, and with heading firmly on the “not allowed” list, Brown cheekily nodded one straight off his nugget in the oppo box as the ball bounced around, giving the sidelines a good laugh.

However the game wasn’t without its knocks, Mansell took a ball to the face and Lewis picked up an injury, but both showed great toughness, and the boys as a whole should be proud of their work ethic to dig in and snatch the win from the Panthers.

There was a real sense of togetherness throughout, with players battling for every ball and supporting each other across the pitch.

Ben Insall was named Player of the Match for an excellent all-round display, making key contributions in both defence and attack, and leading by example with his effort and determination.

Overall, a strong team performance full of energy, resilience, and character. A well-deserved win and another great step forward for the Jags.
