<p>&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; text-align: center;" align="center">Kirklees 2&nbsp; Goole Town Ladies 1 <p>&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; text-align: justify;">&nbsp; <p>&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; text-align: justify;">After the disappointment of Goole&rsquo;s first game being cancelled by Wakefield last week Town began their season at Huddersfield based Kirklees, a side that gained promotion from the West Riding Premier League last season. <p>&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; text-align: justify;">&nbsp; <p>&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; text-align: justify;">Goole gave league debut&rsquo;s to new signings Emma Knowles, Alice Clark, Sarah Slater and Alix Seal in a re-shaped squad. Town with the advantage of a strong wind behind them didn&rsquo;t make it count in the first half with many passes being over hit and the lively home side winning most of the 50/50 challenges. Midway through the period it was Kirklees that took the lead with a well struck shot going in of the post. Goole had their moments with Knowles hitting a volley just over and another effort that the keeper dropped under pressure with the ball going in the net but the ref deemed it a foul. <p>&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; text-align: justify;">&nbsp; <p>&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; text-align: justify;">The away side started the second half strongly and early pressure was awarded when a good flick from Knowles sent Becky Whitaker away on goal who made no mistake with a neat lob over the advancing keeper. Goole were stringing some better moves together and gaining in confidence but the home side always looked dangerous with their wide players a constant threat. On the hour a corner was on only have cleared and fell kindly to a Kirklees player who made no mistake from close range.
