In a thrilling league encounter at St Peters Primary School on 13 April 2025, Greenfield Youth FC U15 Panthers emerged victorious against Moordown & Southbourne Youth U15 Panther, clinching a 4-2 win. The match kicked off at 2:00pm and showcased a blend of tactical prowess and individual brilliance, particularly from Daniel Goodson, who netted a remarkable hat-trick.

Greenfield lined up in a 3-5-1-1 formation, designed to provide both defensive solidity and attacking flair. Dylan Bingham took his place in goal, while a back three comprised Nayan Heward-Mills on the right, George Adlem in the centre, and Olly Ray on the left. The midfield was packed with creativity and energy, featuring Jamie Moore on the right, Josh Akpagbula, Kian Sinclair, and Nickolas Mieszkowski centrally, and Brian Goga Jashari on the left. The substitutes for the match were Thomas Hunt and Jamie Gray.

The match began with Greenfield asserting their dominance early on. In the 11th minute, Daniel Goodson opened the scoring, finishing expertly inside the box after a long pass from Nickolas Mieszkowski. This early goal set the tone for the Panthers, who looked to control possession and dictate the pace of the game.

However, Moordown responded with determination, equalising in the 25th minute. Their goal came as a result of sustained pressure, catching the Greenfield defence off guard and bringing the score to 1-1. The match was finely poised as both teams sought to gain the upper hand.

As the first half progressed, tactical adjustments were made by Greenfield. In the 39th minute, Nayan Heward-Mills was substituted for Thomas Hunt, a move aimed at bolstering the midfield. Just a minute later, Brian Goga Jashari made way for Jamie Gray, further tweaking the formation to enhance their attacking threat. The first half concluded with the score level at 1-1, leaving both teams eager to seize control in the second half.

The second half commenced with Greenfield looking to regain their lead, and they did so almost immediately. In the 41st minute, Goodson struck again, this time converting a cross from Noah Iglewski, putting the Panthers ahead 2-1. The momentum shifted firmly in Greenfield's favour, and they continued to press forward.

Daniel Goodson was not finished yet; in the 55th minute, he scored his third goal of the match, again benefitting from a well-placed cross, this time from Josh Akpagbula. His hat-trick put Greenfield firmly in control at 3-1, showcasing his clinical finishing ability and positioning inside the box.

The Panthers maintained their attacking intensity, and in the 66th minute, Goodson added a fourth goal, further extending the lead to 4-1. His performance was nothing short of sensational, demonstrating his knack for finding space and finishing with precision.

Moordown, however, refused to capitulate and managed to pull one back in the 70th minute through a penalty, narrowing the deficit to 4-2. Despite their efforts, time was against them, and Greenfield's defence held firm to secure the victory.

Referee Josh Lewis officiated the match with a competent performance, ensuring the game flowed smoothly. The final whistle confirmed Greenfield Youth FC U15 Panthers' triumph, a result that will undoubtedly boost their confidence as they continue their league campaign.
