Home league match played on 11 February 2013.
Kicked off at 9:00 PM

Greensleeves put in a polished performance as they beat Olimpico.

They started well, and early pressure saw them win a corner. Sam rolled the ball to Elliot who fired into the corner superbly from an angle. 1-0.

Greensleeves continued to pile on the pressure, their slick passing creating opening after opening. Elliot hit the post and The Olimpico 'keeper made a number of important saves. Greensleeves should have been out of sight before the break, although they had Aaron to thank on a couple of occasions as he thwarted possible openings for Olimpico.

The Green Army went hit at half time 1-0, and the discussion centred around keeping it tight at the back and waiting for the inevitable chances that would come their way. Unfortunately as soon as they went back out on the pitch they seemed to forget this conversation. The Olimpico attacker was allowed to stroll through and equalise. 1-1.

The game went back into a familiar pattern, with Olimpico penned in, and Greensleeves in the ascendancy. Just when they started to get a little frustrated, however, they were gifted the lead. The Olimpico defender was under pressure and turned to play a blind backpass towards his keeper. Unfortunately for him the keeper had tried to make an angle square and the ball rolled into the unattended goal to give Greensleeves the lead. 2-1.

Greensleeves got complacent again after taking the lead, and Olimpico hit the post to give them the wake up call they needed. Matt's raking pass found Holmesy, who took it down superbly and rifled a shot past the 'keeper. It hit the post and flew back across goal where it hit the 'keeper and went it. 3-1. There was still time for Greensleeves to extend their lead. They missed a number of other chances before Matt took Elliots pass and stroked the ball home to finish the game. 4-1.

Greensleeves played some of their best football yet, but defensive sloppiness still threatens to derail their promotion chances.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Holmesy added steel to the midfield and put in a really strong display.
