Greensleeves returned to competitive action with a crucial win against an unexpectedly good Norfolk n Chance.

In a tight opening, Greensleeves were perhaps somewhat suprised by the ability of their opponents as they struggled to take control. Eddie parried away an early effort from the opposition.

Chances started to fall to the boys in Green, but they found the Norfolk 'keeper in fantastic form. Josh, Matt, Elliot and Dave were all thwarted in the first half, and it was 0-0 at half time.

Greensleeves had some more nervy moments at the start of the second half, with Eddie coming out well to tackle a Norfolk striker who had been left unattended.

A shot across goal skimmed off his ankle and wide of the far post to everyone's relief.

Greensleeves started to turn the screw after these scares. Matt and Elliot both missed further chances, before Sam found Elliot, who slipped into to Matt for the finish. 1-0.

Further chances came and went, with their 'keeper making a remarkable triple save from Matt, Elliot and Dave near the end.

Greensleeves held on, and the title is theirs if they can avoid defeat next Monday.

The pitch invasion website gives the following prediction for the next game, which makes for interesting reading

'Do not try to reason with Greensleeves, they are interested in one thing and one thing only... winning. Winning the ball, winning the game or winning the league, it is all the same to them and rather like a mad scientist transformed into some kind of evil arch-villian, these guys will be virtually unstoppable. Dynamites have been put on this earth to do battle. They are here to protect the citizens of the world and bring justice once more to the game of soccer. Incredible.'

MAN OF THE MATCH: Ed takes it again. In truth, everyone had to work hard tonight but Ed did well to keep a clean sheet, and his distribution was decent.
