Home league match played on 20 September 2009.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

This game could easily be summed up using the classic clique 'a game of two halves'.

Norreys were at home for their third game of the season and looking to build on previous games play but hopefully this time with the right result.

The game started slowly, with both sides competing for the ball in midfield and niether side created a chance of any note for the first 10 minutes of play. Post Office right wing was finding joy down the Norreys left and began to get more involved in the game and looked a threat once the game had settled down.

The dead lock was broken after 13 minutes when Post Office took a 1-0 lead which was doubled 10 minutes later when they scored direct from a free kick. This put Norreys on the back foot and Post Offices dominance down the right hand side paid off on 28 minutes when they scored a third. Norreys were constantly under threat from Post Office, and not really looking like getting anything from the few chances they were creating themselves but managed to hold on till half time with the score line remaining the same.

Half time saw a change in personnel and a change in tactics, with Rob making way for Stoney's first outing of the season. Norreys went three at the back with Matt Roddis moving onto the right hand side of midfield, Met moving to the left hand side of midfiled to try to stop the threat of the Post Office right winger and Stoney playing in a central midifield role.

These changes combined with some frank team talking seemed to work straight from the off, with the Norreys team looking keen to make up for the first half.

The change paid off only 3 minutes into the second half when Met punished some poor Post Office defending to pull one back for the home side. Norreys then looked a changed side and were creating more attacking opportunities and coping well with the Post Office right hand side. The pressure was mounting on Post Office as Norreys looked to add to their tally and a perfectly placed ball from Tam picked out Matt Roddis at the back post to net Norreys second on 59 minutes.

The Norreys pressure continued but it was Post Office who scored direct from a free kick on 68 minutes which knocked some of the wind out of Norreys sails. A good second half spirit from the Norreys side though was clear to see and opportunities were presenting themselves, and an attack in the 78th minute led to a Post Office hand ball in the box and a Norreys penalty.

Norreys penalty taker Karl duly picked up the ball, placed it on the spot and dispacthed into the back of the net and Norreys were back in the game at 3-4 down.

A Norreys equaliser was looking promising as continual good work from the strike pair of Brad & Ali was keeping the Post Office defence busy and some great attacking from Matt Roddis on the right hand side.

All of the pressure was on Post Office back 4, and Norreys came close to levelling on a number of occasions with some great free kicks from Tam.

Just before the 90 minute mark, Norreys were awarded another free kick wide on the left after good work from Ali. Tam played in a dangerous ball towards the penalty spot which evaded two Norreys players only to find Stoney unmarked at the back post to nod home a well deserved equaliser.

It looked as if Norreys had gained a well earned point, but hearts were in mouths when Brad quelled the threat of a Post Office attackt by bringing down the Post Office number 7 40 yards from goal right under the referees nose who duly gave Brad a yellow card for his efforts! Luckily for Norreys the free kick came to nothing and the final whistle was blown shortyl afterwards where the hard fought point felt like 3 for Norreys.

The Post Office team were then subjected to a tirade from their manager in the changing rooms who certainly told them what he thought of the match and their second half performance!!

The second half of this game is something Norreys will be looking to build on in their next match.

Managers man of the match was Matt Roddis.
