Shaw FC 1 vs 2 Heyside FC Sunday Open Age

After a nervy start Heyside scored with a penalty(Michael Tibbs) fouled in the area)after 20 minutes, Kyle Townsend slamming the spot kick away to the bottom right hand corner of the net, more a less straight away Shaw FC scored on 23 minutes when Heyside switched off from a free kick making the scores level at half time.

A host of substitutes were made and it more or less became one sided but slightly scrappy affair as Shaw started to lose their heads in the heat.

The score then became 2-1 to Heyside around the 76th minute mark as a delightful ball was chipped through from defence by Dave Skade, the ever alert Lewis-Jack was on hand to get the ball under control and after gliding into the area he lobbed it over the on rushing keeper.

The score finished 2-1 to Heyside on a hot and sticky day and was certainly a good first run out for the team.

Everyone did their bit for the team and to start with a win is plus for all the players who have trained really hard through the summer.
