After a week of last week, Hove Lawns we’re back in action, this time in the Cup against division 1 side AFC Romans Sunday First. This was Lawns first cup game of the season.
Lively start from both sides with Afc controlling more of the game but good shape from Lawns was denying Afc.
On the 20 minute mark corner crossed in not cleared by Lawns and easy tap in for the AFC player to make it 1-0.
As the first half went on it was pretty even from both sides with chances being created, then on the 38 minute mark a free kick which was smashed in by Adam Tighe to make it 1-1.
Into the second half AFC started of the brightest with early chances but then with a thrown in from the left hand side failed to be cleared by Lawns and rays header for the AFC player to make it 2-1.
Lawns still created chances with no luck but another corner from Afc saw a strike into the back of the net which was failed to be cleared the Lawns defence.
12 minutes from time a thrown in caught out the Lawns defence and the AFC player slotted it home to make it 4-1 and seal the win and route into the next round of the cup for AFC Romans sunday first.
Take nothing away from the Lawns side solid performance with the result not matching the performance.
But good luck to Afc in the future rounds.
