Match Report - Hove Lawns 2 AFC Romans Sunday Reserves 2

Hove Lawns came back from 2-0 down to cinch a draw in the first meeting of these two teams.

AFC Romans started of the brightest and with a lovely ball down the right hand side followed by a cross into the box which wasn’t cleared by Lawns defence allowed the visitors to stroke home a close range goal.

Following the goal, Hove Lawns started to control the first half with some great chances but not really troubling the keeper.

Just before half time another run from the Romans winger on the right hand side folllwed With a lovely cross allowed there striker to slot home another goal meaning the home side had all the work to do going into the second half.

Second half saw the home side control the game and shortly after the restart a lovely corner from Adam Tighe found Christian Fuller who slotted home his second of the season to half the deficit.

A change for Lawns saw the introduction of Brian Byrne who replaced Ben Travis. Brian slotted into the central of midfield moving Luke Mitchell out onto the left wing.

Shortly after a lovely ball from mark Woodward played into the path of luke Mitchell who went on a great run down the wing but only to receive a corner and be denied by Romans defence.

From the corner came a lovely ball from Adam Tighe who found Luke Mitchell who headed home the equaliser for Lawns.

The visitors has a goal disallowed for offiside late in the second half but Lawns were able to hold on for the point.

All round great game from both sides, Lawns showed great courage and determination in the second half to come back and get a point.
