A game free week in the league allowed us to arrange a friendly against local team Bollington. We've already had a few good games against them this season and today was no different.
If you look up the old cliche "a game of two halves" in the dictionary you would see this game described.
A really poor 1st half with none of the basics being done. Lack of energy, lack of intensity, pressure or any real quality and we were made to pay for it. 2 good game from Bollington, the 1st a breakaway and finish and the 2nd worked right through the middle of our defence.
After a few words at half time we did seem to come out revitalised. Tymur was playing well in centre midfield, Harry was starting to make an impact with power and strength too. We started to defend better and got into some good passing rhythms.
Toby played a through ball to Ash who held off a challenge and shot past the keeper for 2-1. A few minutes later we worked down the left. Harry played a ball through which eventually came into Owens path and he shot a high shot across the keeper into the far corner for 2-2.
We were now sustaining good pressure in the opposition half and had a few half chances. Siddarth was getting in very well down the right and some great dribbling.
Tymon went down the right and played the ball into Austin who was on upfront. He controlled and turned to hit a strong finish for 3-2.
We could have had a couple more but their keeper made a few really good saves, as was Jack alert in our goal.
A great comeback after a very shaky 1st half. Everyone commited to the 2nd half performance and contributed to the win.
MOTM - Tymur
Goal of the Week - Owen
