Hurdsfield Vipers 6 vs 4 Congleton Bears

A warm and dry morning saw us take on Congy Bears from our league today in a friendly game. We used the chance to trial 11 a side for the 1st time.

We opted for the classic 4-4-2 to start. Into the 1st half and we flew out of the blocks. From the 1st minute we brought great energy and intesity. Siddarth and Tymur in centre midfield were winning battles and Zak and Ash were pressing well.

Within the 1st 15 minutes we were 4 up. 1st we worked it down the left. Ow on to Zak who squared to the on rushing Ash who hit a strong shot through the keeper. Our 2nd was again down the left. Zak crossed and after Ash couldnt convert, Tymur put a controlled finish into the corner. Our 3rd, Siddarth with a drive through the middle and played a lovely through ball for Zak who cut inside with a nice finish into the corner. The 4th came when Owen worked it to Siddarth who cut inside and curled a beauty into the top corner from 20 yards. We pushed on and 2 further goals capped a super half's work. Siddarths effort was blocked and Nico followed up to pounce before a mazy run from Siddarth saw him through on goal and slotted past the keeper. Just on half time Congy pulled one back after they went through our back line.

Into the 2nd half and we definitely were felling the affects of our 1st half efforts. Energy levels dropped off and Congy came back strongly, ending up scoring another 3 in the 2nd half. We had a few half chances in 2nd half but nothing like our 1st half endeavours.

A superb effort from the boys in a new setting of 11 a side. Rorybwas really good at left back and didnt let much past him. Franek, Austin and Tymon Completing a solid defensive display. Every one of the lads worked their socks off and were all exhausted at full time, with only having 1 sub and a longer 70 minute game. They left it all out there.
