Insulators Reserves 1 vs 0 Dunton Green

Insulators set up as a 3 5 2 to try and keep things tight against a strong Dunsron Green who were certainly eager arriving before the home team for the game

The first 10 minutes were a resilient defensive display as DG piled on the pressure but with Martin Ives, James Tierney and Toby Gandell in the centre of defense and the excellent Craig Smith between the sticks the home side held out and started to play themselves into the game.  Chances were few and far between in a tight first half but Thom Roberts certainly shone with some great runs and nearly helped break the deadlock with a ball across the front of goal that Insulators were unable to convert

The second half also started cagey and a moment of class from Harry Mascall to finish from the edge if the box gave Insulators the lead.

Dunston Green piled on the pressure in some fiery exchanges but again chances were scarce.  Insulators certainly grew in stature as a very young side didn't allow themselves to be intimidated by the more physical approach of the opposition and in the end held on for the 1 nil win

A seasons best performance by Insulators and one that shows a bright future for the young nucleus of the squad.  Let's hope we can follow it up by making the quarter finals and fingers crossed for a bit more ??
