Goudhurst United 3 vs 1 Insulators Reserves

With a new fresh faced looking squad insulators were in buoyant mood before kick off.

Unfortunately it appeared that there was a hangover from last season as Goudhurst went 1 up after 5 minutes following a long throw where the defense failed to clear their lines.

Not to dwell on the disappointing start insulators grew into the game and just a minute after a Lewis Ott free kick was well saved by the opposition goalkeeper it was Cole Walsh who scored to level up the game.

Insulators dominated the last part of the first half and spurned several good chances before Craig Smith was denied by his brother with a fine save.

1 all at half time but signs were positive until another long throw resulted in a goal for Goudhurst 5 minutes into the 2nd half. Goudhurst took control of the game and deserved their 3rd goal when it came, although it was another soft goal to concede

There was a fine penalty save from Dan Marks to keep the score at 3-1 and that is gone the game finished.

Special mention to Ash James who really shone in the back four.

Lots of positives to take into next week's game against Ticehurst and hopefully we can secure our first points of the season
