Paddock Wood 2 vs 2 Insulators Reserves

The atmosphere was tense for this much anticipated local derby between Insulators and a Paddock Wood side full of players who have been part WKSL folklore

Insulators set up with a new formation and took the game to Paddock Wood with the extra freedom it allowed for the wide men to get forward. A couple of good chances were spurned by Jake Freeman before, against the run of play Paddock Wood took the lead.

The lead lasted all but 1 minute as Lewis Ott scored, ably assisted by Ben Manser. Slator's continued to push but the teams went in level at half time.

Paddock Wood came out strong in the 2nd half and went 2-1 up after 55 minutes. This sprung Insulators into life and the best move of the match produced a good save from Paddock Wood's keeper, but the rebound fell to Ben Obbard to score with a neat finish and level up the game again.

Then came the crunch part of the game as Sam Minter-Friers was to be denied by a very dubious off side decision. SMF was clearly behind the ball and the pass was clearly backwards from Ben Obbard but the linesman somehow raised his flagged and disallowed the goal

The game finished 2 all and it was a much improved performance from Insulators. However the way the 3 points were denied left a sour taste, but we go again next week
