Westerham 1 vs 2 Insulators Reserves

It had been a while since Insulators had been on the end of a defeat so it was always going to be interesting to see if they could bounce back against a very useful Westerham side

There seemed to be a bit of a hangover from last week as Westerham dominated the opening exchanges and their persistence was rewarded on 12 minutes with the opening goal of the game

This seemed to wake up Insulators who grew into the game and started creating some good chances, but some wasteful finishing saw the score remain 1 - 0

35 minutes in and a delightful ball from Nik Weedon to Harry Mascall as brilliantly finished from the edge of the box to make it a level game

Insulators would rue more slack finishing as the game headed into half time at 1 goal a piece

The 2nd half was largely a scrappy affair and tensions were certainly building on the pitch. Both teams created chances and will feel like they deserved to win, but it was Insulators who went home the happier of the 2 sides as in the 93rd minute, Man of the match, Dan Green played Jacob Pingault through and he rounded the goalkeeper before finally getting a goal after several spurned chances

Close game and hopefully Westerham can take some points off the teams at the top end of the league over the remainder of the season as we push for the top two
