So after some good efforts this season without leaving with the 3 points Insulators Reserves finally managed to get the win they have been threatening for some time

A recent 3 all draw versus Yalding fresh in the memory and with a nearly identical squad for this fixture, confidence was high before kick off on a damp memorial ground pitch

The first 10 minutes were cagey and Yalding probably had the better of the early exchanges but Insulators back 3 and Craig in goal weren't about to make this easy and Insulators soon grew into the game and started to enjoy more of the play

So it was no surprise when Jake Freeman opened his account for the club with a smart finish ably assisted by James Philpott

Mr Philpott wasnt to be denied and 2 minutes later made it 2 nil to Insulators

Keeping legs fresh substitutions were made frequently by Insulators and the plan was working as they remained 2 up at half time

Unfortunately there was a sloppy start to the 2nd half and Yalding halved the deficit with the watching crowd becoming worried this would be another victory to slip from our grasp

Nerves were settled 2 minutes later after James Philpott was fouled in the box and he dusted himself off to score the resulting penalty

Yalding were now getting very tetchy and even had a player sin binned for dissent

Lewis Ott then moved up the goal scorers charts bundling the ball home from a goalkeeping error 4 1 to Insulators

There was time for a late Yalding consolation but the result wasn't in doubt and in fairness Insulators shoukd probably have had more goals themselves

A good team performance and hopefully this will breed some confidence for the coming weeks and more victories

Unfortunately we will be without Ben Manser fir the next couple after he suffered a dislocated shoulder. We wish you a speedy recovery Ben and hope this doesn't hinder any of the expected activities your due to complete on your wedding day/night
