Insulators Reserves 1 vs 2 Yalding and Laddingford

alding & Laddingford claimed top spot, beating rivals Insulators Reserves 2-1 at the Kinton's.

Insulators Reserves were left sweating a little. They would have been out if Speldhurst Rangers had won their Group 3 game and other results in Groups 1 and 2 had not gone their way. But as it turned out, Rangers were held 2-2 by Brenchley and the other results were favourable.

This was a game in which Insulators were looking for a point to guarantee qualification for the quarter finals of the Spring Cup. However, Yalding started in positive mood and took the lead with a crisp shot from inside the area by Dave McCall, after the Insulators defence failed to clear the ball.

The game was competitive and hard fought, but the score remained 1-0 at half time with the home side having had the best of the game.

The second half continued in a similar pattern although Insulators came into the game a little more. On the hour minutes a slip in the visitors defence allowed Billy Dunn to score from a tight angle to give Yalding a 2-0 lead. Insulators continued to battle and with five minutes left Tom Roberts scored from close range after Harry Mascall's shot was saved by the home keeper. Despite a late rally by Insulators, Yalding emerged the winners but Insulators still march on to the quarter finals next week
