Away league match played on 01 November 2014.
Kicked off at 2:15 PM

Kirton town travelled away to pointon this weekend looking to add to their brilliant away win at Wyberton the week before, ben Harris was making his debut for the town this weekend, and was brought into midfield ,with Lewis Dunworth and Callum McDonald both away Martin Durrant returned to defence, Kurt West was moved out to the right back position and Richard ford was moved to centre back and Reece West started off in midfield to complete Kirtons changes, James Hardy, a return for Rares Demeter ,and Radak Kosieradzki made up the bench.

Kirton nearly got off to the best possible start after 3 mins with some good work down the left Ashley Davis picking the ball up, running at the Pointon defence, cutting inside and hitting a lovely shot, which the keeper could only watch as the ball bounced back of the far post. After a few chances for Kirton in the first few mins it was pointon who went ahead 3 lucky deflections around the Kirton box and pointons forward was through on goal to fire a good shot beyond Joe Gilbert in goal to give them the lead, Kirton never gave up and pressed hard and after some strong and late tackles and a few missed chances from both teams it was the 37 min when Kirton got the equaliser, a good run by dean fisher down the right and a brilliant cross into the box , it was just a bit too high for Declan Sands to head home but fell to Ben Harris just behind him who calmly knocked the ball into the net to bring Kirton deservedly level, there was a couple more chances for Kirton before half time but unfortunately we didn’t take them so half time was all square 1-1.

The second half started without any changes ,but soon carried on the same theme as the first half, Kurt west still had his surging runs and as strong as ever in defence, Richard ford a rock at the back Marc Neall had a quieter game in midfield, but was still a threat to Pointon, and everything running through Ben Harris in midfield who had a very game ,both teams were going for a win , Kirton the better passing football missed more chances throughout the second half ,as Declan Sands seemed to go a bit goal shy in front of goal for once.55 min and pointon got a free kick, Ashley Davis encroached on the kick as was shown the yellow card ,soon after pointon had 3 yellow cards shown to players for some very late tackles on Kirton players. Ashley Davis was lucky not to have been shown another yellow on 70 mins for a dive inside the penalty area, he was replaced by Remers Demeter soon after, who had a good game when he came on,Decland Sands was replaced by James Hardy ,who had a couple of chances to score but was thwarted by the Pointon goalkeeper, near to the end of the game Joe Gilbert in the Kirton goal made a good save, after a mistake by Richard Ford let the pointon striker through on goal, and as he tried to go around the young keeper to shoot , Joe was able to smoother the ball and avert the danger, nearly straight away Kirton attacked, and eventually with Harris on the ball just outside the area hit a brilliant shot, that somehow the pointon keeper turned over the bar for a Kirton corner, the game ended 1-1 ,with Kirton playing the best football, and been unlucky not to win.
