Sunningdale & Wentworth Res 7 – 1 Maidenhead Crown FC / Berks & Bucks Junior Cup Round 3

Once a season as a team you will get a result that you wished you never got out of bed for, this was certainly the one for this season.

We crashed out of the Berks & Bucks cup with a 7-1 thrashing at the hands of Sunningdale & Wentworth Res, who are top of div 1 in the Bracknell league.

We never really looked like ourselves for the 90 mnts, we did create a few goal scoring opportunities, but any we did have were saved by the opposition goalie or were blazed wide.

The only reward came 5 mnts after halftime, when forward STEVEN EATON finished well with a low shot from around 15 yards out.

We were missing a couple of important players, one of them being the goalkeeper, the stand in keeper wasn’t a keeper and unfortunately for us that really showed after what can only be called a “ very disappointing “ performance.

It’s all about putting it right for us now and we have the perfect opportunity to do this with another cup game this Sunday, when we welcome Phoenix Old Boys Res to Desborough Park.

We are much better then we showed last Sunday, It’s important to put the performance right this Sunday and I’m sure the result will come.
