Over the course of 70 minutes plus added time, Maidstone United emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline, demonstrating resilience and attacking flair on the artificial surface.

Maidstone lined up in a 4-2-1-3 formation, deploying a balanced setup designed to control midfield and utilise width in attack. Harvey Rostron guarded the goal, supported by a back four comprising Liam Rich at right defender, central defenders Captain Eddie Ambrose and Danny Lowe, and Max Carney as left defender. The double pivot in central midfield featured Tosan Okomi and Bertie Hayward, tasked with breaking up play and distributing the ball forward. Ahead of them, Bernie Farley operated as the attacking midfielder, linking midfield and attack. Substitutions continued with Max Carney returning at the 59th minute for Lyonette and Zane Clements replacing Zaph Kouassi at the 61st minute. Will Stroud also made an impact with attempts on goal, making the Cray Valley goalkeeper work hard to keep him out. Rostron remained alert, producing a crucial dive at the feet to deny a close-range effort.

Maidstone restored their lead in the 66th minute through Rylee Rodgers, who scored a close-range solo goal after a short pass from Stroud. Rodgers’ composure to take on 3 players and calmly finish was a testament to his skill and timing.
