Masia FC U13 Primera 4 vs 5 Ashton on Mersey Flames

Another really good game again today, girls ????

Ashton Mersey 5 - 4 Masia

Going into half-time we had them pinned back. The energy levels slowly ramped up throughout the first half from idling to firing on all cylinders, and we went into the break 2–1 up with goals from Ruby and Brooklyn.

Unfortunately, we let that energy drop at the start of the second half. We started slowly, let them back into the game and found ourselves 5-2 down at one point.

But credit to every one of you, we didn’t sulk. Some moments of really good football dragged us right back into the game and a brace from Willow took us to 4-5 and we pushed for the equaliser but ran out of time!

You should all be proud of yourselves because, on the balance of the game, you deserved to win it.

We just need a little more composure in the final third and to tidy up that final pass.

Player of the Match - Emily

Covered at centre-back with a smile on her face, cleared everything that came her way and positioned herself brilliantly to shut things down before they could escalate. You could also hear her in the car park organising the team and lifting heads when mistakes happened. Mature performance and well deserved.

Well done, girls.
