Masia FC U13 Segunda 1 vs 1 Oldham Community FC U13 Vi

MASIA SEGUNDA 1 - 1 OLDHAM COMMUNITY VIXENS

A really good performance today against the current Manchester Girls FA Cup holders - a side we already knew would be physical, aggressive and mentally strong.

Overall, I think a narrow win probably would have been fair for us today.

There were spells where we controlled the game really well and, more importantly, made them play our game instead of getting dragged into theirs.

They definitely turned up expecting a comfortable morning.

Unfortunately for them, they ran into a brick wall on most occasions. They were told to not give them space outside the box and didn’t for the majority of the game.

Defensively we were outstanding, competed for everything and gave them very little. The only real disappointment was the final 10 minutes, where the energy levels started to drop and we lost a bit of our control.

Player of the Match - Kacey

Stepped into left-back and let nothing through. Really good distribution, defended aggressively and knew when to step into midfield to clean up loose balls and keep the pressure on. Also did a stint in midfield and the exact same result!

A good performance from the team but lots to polish up!

Well done girls
