The Lady Mustangs Varsity Soccer hosted Tigers FC last night in what has become a season highlight game. Despite losing 3-2 the teams treated spectators to an exciting match.
The Tigers got on the board first then building on a lead that saw them up 3-0. However, the Mustangs refused to give up and began to chip away at the lead.
Ruby Ko got the home team on the scoreboard with a solid strike off of an Jamie Baquet assist. Just ten minutes later, with the Mustangs sending wave after wave of attack, Sofia Gregg scored to bring the Mustangs within a goal of leveling the scoreline.
The Mustangs ran out of time to tie the game but dominated the opportunities in waning moments of the game.
GK Genevieve Lin had eight saves in the match.
Centerback Elana Heath was named Player of the Match for her tremendous play shutting down the opponent's attack and creating offensive opportunities for the team.
The girls travel to Taipei on Tuesday to take on MAT before next Saturday's TISSA tournament in Kaohsiung.
