Away league match played on 14 September 2025.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

Newcastle Benfield Tardini U10 Sunday travelled to Hebburn Town F.C. (Juniors) U7s Hornets on 14 September 2025 for a 10am kick-off in a league away fixture. The seven-a-side contest lasted 50 minutes plus added time, with Benfield Tardini producing a commanding 7-2 win over Hebburn Town’s U10 Hornets.

Benfield Tardini lined up in a 2-3-1 formation, deploying two central defenders, three midfielders across the right, centre and left, and a lone striker up front. Ollie Lattimer guarded the goal, while James Rutherford and Tom Slater formed the central defensive partnership. Parker Buglass operated on the right midfield, Oliver Moore held the central midfield role, and Elias Rowland took up the left midfield position. Leading the line was striker Freddie Brydon. The substitutes available were Lewis Coates, Alfie Cook and Jaxson Medland.

From the outset, Benfield Tardini set the tone with Oliver Moore unleashing a stunning long-range strike from outside the box in the second minute, firing a right-footed effort that found the back of the net. Just three minutes later, Moore’s influence continued as he delivered a precise free kick that James Rutherford converted from close range, nodding in to double the visitors’ advantage.

The attacking momentum did not relent, with Parker Buglass whipping in a dangerous cross that Freddie Brydon expertly tapped in at close range in the ninth minute. Brydon was again on the scoresheet three minutes later, capitalising on a goalmouth scramble to slot home another right-footed finish, extending the lead to 4-0.

At the quarter-hour mark, a tactical substitution saw Lewis Coates replace James Rutherford in defence. Coates quickly made his mark, unleashing a spectacular right-footed screamer from long range in the 22nd minute that electrified the away supporters.

Shortly after, at the 25-minute mark, Benfield Tardini made a double substitution with Alfie Cook and Jaxson Medland coming on for Freddie Brydon and Elias Rowland respectively, signalling a fresh injection of energy as the first half drew to a close.

The half-time whistle blew with Benfield Tardini comfortably in control at 5-0.

Early into the second half Parker Buglass made a "terrible two footed tackle" as stated by the Hebburn Town supporters but infact it was a great tackle to stop the Hebburn attack. However this distraction allowed Hebburn Town to responded early in the second half, pulling two goals back in quick succession. The first came in the 30th minute from a fluke effort outside the box, followed swiftly by an inside-the-box finish a minute later, narrowing the deficit to 5-2.

However, Benfield Tardini restored their commanding lead in the 39th minute through Alfie Cook, who finished a well-worked team move with a close-range right-footed strike. The visitors continued to press and in the 48th minute, Jaxson Medland scored from a close-range free kick, expertly assisted by Cook, sealing the emphatic 7-2 victory.

James Rutherford’s early defensive solidity and goal-scoring contribution earned him the player of the match accolade, highlighting his vital role in Benfield Tardini’s dominant performance.

Overall, Newcastle Benfield Tardini U10 Sunday displayed a potent blend of attacking flair and defensive organisation to secure a comprehensive win on the road against Hebburn Town’s U10 Hornets.
