Home league match played on 13 September 2025.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

On Saturday 13 September 2025, Newhall Rangers Youth U7 Blues welcomed Panshanger U7 Jaguars to Rectory Field for a league home match kicking off at 10:00am. In a commanding display of youthful football, Newhall Rangers ran out comfortable 13-0 victors in this 5-a-side contest lasting 40 minutes plus added time.

Newhall Rangers set up in a classic 1-2-1 formation, featuring a goalkeeper at the back, two central midfielders providing both defensive cover and creative spark, a central defender tasked with shielding the goal, and a lone striker leading the line. This setup demanded disciplined defending from the goalkeeper and central defender, industrious box-to-box work from the midfield duo, and clinical finishing from the striker. The starting lineup consisted of the goalkeeper, central defender, two central midfielders, and the striker.

From the outset, Newhall Rangers imposed themselves on the game, controlling possession and pressing high to unsettle the Panshanger defence. The goalkeeper maintained a vigilant presence, ensuring the clean sheet was preserved throughout. The central defender played a pivotal role in organising the backline and intercepting opposition advances, while the two central midfielders orchestrated play, linking defence and attack with precision passes and relentless energy.

The lone striker was the focal point of Newhall’s attacking efforts, capitalising on the midfield’s creativity to convert numerous chances. The fluidity of the 1-2-1 formation allowed the midfielders to support the striker effectively, resulting in a barrage of goals that Panshanger struggled to contain.

The match progressed with relentless intensity, and by the 20-minute mark, the referee Kaley signalled half-time. At this interval, Newhall Rangers had already established a commanding lead, reflecting their dominance in both attack and defence. The referee’s performance was impeccable, maintaining control and fairness throughout the encounter.

In the second half, Newhall Rangers continued their attacking onslaught, further extending their advantage. The team’s cohesion and tactical discipline were evident as they maintained their shape and exploited spaces with clinical efficiency. Panshanger U7 Jaguars found themselves overwhelmed by the relentless pressure and could not mount any meaningful response.

Wilf Taylor was named Player of the Match for his outstanding contribution, demonstrating exceptional skill, vision, and determination that inspired his teammates and helped secure the emphatic victory. His influence was felt across the pitch, particularly in the midfield where he linked play and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities.

Ultimately, Newhall Rangers Youth U7 Blues delivered a comprehensive performance that showcased their technical ability, tactical awareness, and team spirit. Their 13-0 triumph over Panshanger U7 Jaguars at Rectory Field will be remembered as a dominant display in this early season league fixture.

Great start to the season - we can only play against who’s in front of us but despite the gap in ability the boys were still fantastic today, passing the ball around, great defending and some great finishing too.

Also wanted to say thank you to everyone that helped out before and after the match with the goals and stuff - really appreciate it! ??
