Away league match played on 18 March 2012.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Norman travelled to Watton for their final game of the season, a reverse of the first game of the season when Norman ran out 5-3 winners that day. How they would settle for the same scoreline today. Sitting at the top of the table, Norman needed to keep the pressure up and on Horsford who sit 3pts behind and with a game in hand, but crucially a better goal difference.

Norman kicked off and dominated the early stages with Shane E opening the scoring in the 4th minute after fine work by Reece M. Alot of the Norman play was coming down the right hand side of the pitch and Shane E was running wild tapping in a 2nd in the 12th minute before completing his treble in the 23rd mninute. Isaac M tapped in a 4th on 30mins after an assist by who else, Shane E!! Scoring at regular and frequent intervals saw Norman lead at half time. Half Time Watton 0 Norman 4.

Norman created chances in the 2nd half but their performance seem to drop as tiredness set in and with a comfortable lead, they may of felt the job was done. Watton were carving out chances all too easily and scored in the 63rd minuted which was deserved for their battling perormance. In an eventful final few minutes of the match, you know who set up Billy D who smashed a shot in from the edge of the box to restore the 4 goal advantage and bring the curtain down on a successfull season. Final Score Watton 1 Norman W 5.

The "Shane E" show was a major part in this win, but its how Shane plays the game which tipifies the Norman approach to football. Fast flowing, attacking, crisp football. has been evident in most games this season and is a big part of this seasons success. Sometimes Norman have been unplayable and a pleasure to watch and be associated with. Norman still sit 3pts clear having finished their fixtures and Horsford with 1 to play. It may well be that Norman miss out on the title by goal difference, which is by the smallest of margins. My team ethic and the principles by how we approach matches will not be compromised and promotion is the very least Norman deserve this year and proves you can be successful whilst playing attractive football. They say no body remembers who came 2nd, but I am sure that will be different this season should we finish 2nd. The footballing gods may well be Norman fans after all.

Well done and thank you to everyone involved this season, for your help and assistance, and thank you to all the parents whose support of the lads, the team, myself and the club is very much appreciated. But most importantly to all the lads who have played for me this season and to the rest of the under 14s squad who have trained with us and helped the team to become what they are today. Without the lads, there wouldnt be a Norman Wanderers under 14's, its the lads that cross the line and perform, I only guide them, they deliver and boy this season did they deliver!! So proud and happy for every player this season to get something for their efforts, it might not be what we aimed for, or will it be? C'Mon Norman!!!!
