Home cup match played on 15 September 2012.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

Skegness town res started off the brighter of the two teams, going close in the first few minutes; they made their intensions known, with a clattering challenge on the young Jamie Hall in goal, who subsequently needed treatment for a knock to the head. It wasn’t long before the goalkeeper was called into action again the skeggy forward breaking through with only Jamie to beat he made a brilliant save pushing  his shot onto the post and out for a corner kick. After this old dons started to get into there stride after 15 minutes Jonny Butler got the first of his 6 goals, adding another 4 before the half time whistle, his fourth was a great goal, mazy run and shot hitting both posts before it went into the net, with young Oli Gedney and Kyle Graves down the wings they were causing Skegness all sorts of problems. The half time whistle couldn’t come quick enough for Skegness but by then they were 5-0 down. Start of the second half started with the return of the captain Liam pitts who had been out with a injury since the first game of the season, he replaced Andrew Stanhope in midfield who had had another commanding game in the centre, he was helped by two new signings martyn cundy and paul Langford in midfield and they easily cut the threats out from the Skegness attack. With Wayne foster back in the centre of defence from injury, Martyn fox Ricky mason and Dave slaughter making up the rest of the defence they coped well with what Skegness had to throw at them, only one small mistake cost dons there first clean sheet allowing Skegness to score  a late consolation goal, before this Jonny butler had added his 5th, Liam pitts got on the score sheet with a crisp shot into the bottom of the net, and Jonny butler rounded his scoring off with his cheekiest goal by sitting the keeper on his bum, rounding him then slipping the ball into a empty net for his 6th,great team performance. Into the quarter finals now against Wyberton, and back to the league action on Saturday with an away trip to Spilsby town

PLAYERS VERSION.....

It was a warm saturday morning, the sun was shining and the weather was sweet yea... Skegness had a long journey down to the Chris Packet stadium off Willy Dawson way. Martyn Fox turned up early to help with the net putting up as he's awesome and totally cool but we will touch on that later. Martyn Fox is of petite build and likes long walks on the beach and short trips to hamster collector meetings at hamstead on heath. Anyway... Mark Stanhope was utilising his pace and strength pegging the net in really well as to not go anywhere while Martyn was using his height and agility to hook the net on to the crossbar. If you was to compare the nets to anything you would probably have to say they stood tall and strong like the statue of liberty, and yet held a delicate, gentle warmth like baby jesus weighing in at about 8 pounds 7 ounce laying there in his manger, all snuggly and shit.  The nets were up, the corner flags were blowing briskly in the summer breeze like fresh ready to cut corn. The scene was set for the big game and the fans were out in their teens, it was epic. You could feel the tension in the changing rooms as Dons got ready for the game. Captain Ricky 'captain' Mason who was captain barely even drank from his sippy cup as the minutes lead up to the kick off to this Fishtoft cup battle. As kick off drew closer the gaffer gave a final speech and the game was upon us, the time was now...

Dons won 7 - 1 Johnny Bravo got 6 Ricky Mason got 1..Liam Pitts quoted after the game 'yea it was a pretty good finish to be fair' on Rickys goal.
