Home cup match played on 15 December 2012.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

The end of the year saw Poitten End close out with a win in the cup. A well organised and tough Global side came to play and met some good resistance.
The first 20 minutes saw us soak up what would be fair to call some fairly heavy pressure. With that said, the goal that came was rather against the run of play. Amusingly Macca looked incredulously at me as I delivered the line with my best Poker face, "well its been coming Mac". The wink and decent into peels of laughter rather gave the game away!
The goal scored, and anything other than a Potten win started to look the case. Indeed we upped the pressure and for the remaining 70 minutes always looked the more likely. Global did not give up at any stage, used al of their subs and pushed 3 up top, but were were in no mood to me beaten. Paddy looking like he's really finding his feet, Keiran continuing his run of good form and Nowlsey and Gav anchoring the back. Our midfielders worked for everything, with Rob capping his performance with a goal and putting in a good 90 minute shift. Ben having to go off after several pastings takes for the team with Diego providing a quality cover. Alkie quieter than in previous games still proved a solid foil to The Machine who grabbed another brace. Gilly and Rahul occupied the wings, with Danny and Jonny replacing them later on.
A word or two for Frenchie who we will miss for a bit as he now has to have hand surgery. What a solid game. Handled everything superbly (bar and early drop - which was gathered at the 2nd attempt!). Spoke to his defence, commanded a very greasy area and kicked/threw his distribution superbly. Get well soon French.
Guys, onwards for the new year.
Keep it Rotten.
