PS Olympic U13 South 2 vs 3 Kidderminster Harriers You

A difficult game to review, one full of positives and challenges the boys will need to address as we continue through the season. A game of moments, where we had little to no luck, final balls being intercepted or deflected, every 50/50 bounced their way despite us challenging well.

Our bad luck started before kick-off, with a few injuries in the warm up that required last minute change of plans, this could have transferred into the first half as we were still a bit flat; better than last week but we still gave Kidderminster too much respect and time on the ball. That's not to say we didn't have our chances, getting in good positions, always threatening and hitting the bar with a crisp attack. The 2 goals they scored came from the backside of their player, turning away from a corner, and a miss hit cross that looped over Tyler. Again, we created enough to be with them but couldn't quite find the breakthrough.

The second half was better, we controlled the ball more and got forward multiple times through the half. A good through ball from Henry opened them up and Kieran did what he's done all season, calmly slotted the ball under the keeper. At this point we were on the ascendancy but gave away a cheap goal on the counter attack.

This didn't stop the boys driving forward, Kieran scoring again, this time from a Tyler H bomb kick and we finished the game with wave after wave.

The energy levels and intensity grew through the game and we can be disappointed to come away without a result.

We go into a much tougher game next week. If we start like we finished we'll be in the game. This needs to a focus for everyone as we prepare.
