PS Olympic U13 South 4 vs 2 West Hagley U13 South

Another week where the boys continue to improve and impress. We took confidence from last week's result and played with determination, freedom and a never-say-die attitude that has been evident since the end of last season.

We've worked hard on the positional aspect of the game and every goal scored today shows how important that work is. When you add in the desire to win every ball that we can challenge for, we become a very dangerous side to play against.

We were on the front foot from the very first whistle but conceded early from a corner. We brushed that off and continued to attack at will. Kieran's pace and power down the wing drew a good save from the keeper but Joe was in the perfect position to slot home the equaliser. Not content to stay level, Kian harried their defender, won the ball and slotted in the second from a very difficult angle. Again, determination and desire, coupled with skill put us in command.

We finished the first half the stronger team, could have had a couple more, but were well worth our lead.

Hagley came back a little bit at the start of the second half, scoring again from a corner. It would have been easy for heads to drop, but while they were on top, we still looked composed and full of energy.

Henry delivery from corners was a danger all game and with 5 minutes to go he found Bodie with an inswinger who flicked the ball into the corner. That took the wind out of them, with enough time for another pacy counter attack to give Joe his second of the day, a cool finish under the keeper.

They never troubled us after that and we can chalk our second win of the season and a commanding performance from the start.

They boys did everyone proud, everyone played their part and Man of the Match was a tough decision, but lets make sure we keep these levels up for the rest of the campaign.
