It was a stage where David versus Goliath and no miracle performance from Saturns, but plenty of bravehearts!
The night with strong wind howling, the Saturns being a social and none-league team traveled to CRC to face an uphill task to take on a reputable CRC, predictably slaughtered by 5 goals with 1 reply.
It was a performance the Saturn Headcoach Mr-X happy with despite the lost, and applauded with plenty of positives.
Plenty of beautiful football with attractive flows of attacks from CRC. The disciplined defense line of Saturns was able to thwart several early attacks. Good link up plays by Bada and Andrew constantly feeding Kecex and annoying the CRC's Kor at the right byline.
Saturns put up a strong performance and held the scoreline level until 30th minutes before a beautiful volley by the CRC. CRC lead 1 goal to nil.
Saturns was very organized and not afraid to bring forward attacks in the first half. Unfortunate for Saturns, Kecex's several powerful shots like those big fat canon bazooka, sent the ball to CRC's swimming pool behind the goal post of CRC. Perhaps Kecex was distracted by the bikini's next door. The girls clearly impressed by Kecex's rocket while WJ looked envy.
Saturn was down to 2 goals a minute before 1st half ended. CRC took advantage of the on-rushing Saturn GK and sent a looping ball to the empty goal post. The impressive lone striker of CRC held the ball and passed to the attacking midfielder who found a space and sent in a looping goal passed Saturn GK.
Saturn's TK was limping after a mis-timed tackle as early in the 3rd minute of the second half. OhKee took control from defense as the ineffective TK struggled to cope with CRC's attacks.
A cross from CRC caught Saturn's GK in waiting mode and a speedy CRC winger headed a 3rd goal. Obvious mistake by the GK, the fans was mourning.
Fans was booing Saturn's Lau after the midfielder went down too easily. Referee Din should have cautioned Lau for simulation but Lau get away with it. Comparing to other midfield battles, SB and Andrew got fired up and throwing tackles after tackles.
Saturn pulled a goal back. Mocha Hui received a brilliant passing from the back, exchanged passes between SB and WJ, and the aging Anip held the ball, flicked a nice pass between 2 CRC defenders feeding into BK. Astro CH8888 replay shows that BK looked up and spotted the onrushing CRC GK, BK teased the GK and rounding to the right and calmly placed the ball into the net. What a nice team move and superb strike by BK. Kapsiao.com journalist Siaolan Cow quoted it as the goal of December, probably a contender for the goal of the year. SB agreed the glimpse of BK as a No9 striker. High 5 throwing as BK celebrated the goal, although the previous goal by BK was 2 years ago.
While the sweet strike was still lingering around, CRC made it harder for Saturn by adding a 4th goal. Another strong midfield tempo by the CRC team out playing Saturns and the advancing midfielder added another accurate half volley from outside the box. Saturn GK can only look.
WJ almost added a second for Saturn, by intercepting a back pass from CRC's GK. He was too early to celebrate while CRC GK cleared the ball from the line. Fans are obviously disappointed the fast reacting CRC GK and slow assuming WJ.
2 minutes before fulltime, a superb solo goal from CRC speedy winger picked up the ball from midfield and dancing passed 4 Saturn players and scored with a screamer. By the time Ref Din signaled the game, CRC placed a well played 5-1 game.
Prior to the game Saturn's WJ had been tweeting on social media of getting electricuted whenever CRC's Kor is closing down, but that did not happen much during the game. The fans from both sides have been eagerly awaiting, but there was no love sparks between the two and both are very focus on letting their football do the talking. There was no love hug either towards the end of the game. The fans are obviously disappointed and looking forward for WJ's electricution performance in the next game.
