RIT Dubai welcomed Curtin to HCT on the evening of 23 February 2026 for a friendly 11-a-side encounter, kicking off promptly at 9:00pm. The hosts produced a stunning attacking display to secure a resounding 12-2 victory over their visitors in a match that showcased their offensive prowess and tactical fluidity.
RIT Dubai lined up in a 3-1-4-2 formation, deploying three defenders at the back with a single central midfielder shielding the defence. The back three consisted of Mohamed Albawab at left defender, Filip Simunac centrally, and Khalifa Albedwawi on the right. Ahmed Qadourah operated as the lone central midfielder, tasked with linking defence and attack. Ahead of him, a quartet of attacking midfielders featured Abdellah Jemal on the left, Mahmoud Sabouh and Nariman Samani centrally, and Momen Tarek on the right. The strike partnership was formed by Masoud Barahoey on the left and Armaan Shafique on the right forward positions. The goalkeeper was Abdulkarim AlSafadi. The substitutes available were Karam Alsayed, Artur Farhutdinov, Hazza Yateem, Aws Dashash, Mohsin Ayaz, Omar Remawi, and Smyan Aggarwal.
The match burst into life in the 14th minute when Masoud Barahoey opened the scoring for RIT Dubai. Armaan Shafique delivered a precise cross into the box, which Barahoey expertly finished with his right foot from close range. The hosts were already asserting their dominance early on.
Just eight minutes later, at the 22-minute mark, RIT Dubai made their first substitution, with Karam Alsayed replacing right defender Khalifa Albedwawi. Almost simultaneously, Mahmoud Sabouh doubled the lead, again benefiting from a cross by Armaan Shafique, slotting home inside the box with his right foot. The visitors were struggling to contain the fluid attacking movements.
Three minutes after that, Nariman Samani produced a moment of individual brilliance. Picking up the ball outside the box, he embarked on a solo run before curling a left-footed strike into the net, extending the lead to 3-0. This goal highlighted the creative spark in the midfield.
In the 30th minute, Masoud Barahoey was withdrawn for Artur Farhutdinov, signalling a fresh injection of energy upfront for RIT Dubai. The hosts continued to press, and their efforts paid off in the 41st minute when Farhutdinov scored his first goal of the evening. Assisted by a short pass from Nariman Samani, he finished neatly inside the box with his right foot, making it 4-0 before the break.
As the first half drew to a close, RIT Dubai made a flurry of substitutions at the 45th minute mark. Omar Remawi came on for left attacking midfielder Abdellah Jemal, Mohsin Ayaz replaced right attacking midfielder Momen Tarek, Hazza Yateem took over from Nariman Samani in the attacking midfield role, and Aws Dashash entered the fray for left defender Mohamed Albawab. These changes ensured fresh legs and maintained the high tempo.
The second half began with an immediate impact from the substitutes. Hazza Yateem scored within a minute of the restart, tapping in a close-range finish from a cross delivered by Omar Remawi. The scoreline now read 5-0, and RIT Dubai showed no signs of easing off.
Curtin managed to pull a goal back in the 55th minute, capitalising on an inside-the-box finish with their right foot. However, this was a rare moment of respite for the visitors as RIT Dubai continued to dominate proceedings.
In the 58th minute, further tactical adjustments saw Mohamed Albawab return to the left defender position, replacing Filip Simunac, while Momen Tarek re-entered the right attacking midfield role, taking the place of Mahmoud Sabouh. Shortly after, at 63 minutes, Khalifa Albedwawi was reinstated at right defender, substituting Ahmed Qadourah, and Abdellah Jemal returned to the left attacking midfield spot, replacing Armaan Shafique.
RIT Dubai’s relentless attacking approach bore fruit again in the 66th minute when Abdellah Jemal scored following a well-worked team move, finishing with his right foot after a short pass from Aws Dashash. Jemal was again on the scoresheet three minutes later, tapping in a close-range cross from Dashash to make it 8-1.
Curtin responded quickly, scoring from a defensive mistake by RIT Dubai in the 70th minute, narrowing the gap to 8-2. This moment coincided with a substitution in goal for RIT Dubai, as Smyan Aggarwal replaced Abdulkarim AlSafadi.
RIT Dubai’s attacking momentum was undeterred. In the 72nd minute, Aws Dashash found the net with a left-footed finish following a short pass from Momen Tarek. Five minutes later, Hazza Yateem added another solo goal, finishing close range with his right foot, showcasing his individual skill.
The visitors’ defence faltered again in the 78th minute, gifting Momen Tarek a goal from a defensive error, extending the lead further. RIT Dubai continued to pile on the pressure, and in the 82nd minute, Dashash scored once more inside the box, converting a flicked assist from Tarek with his right foot.
Masoud Barahoey returned to the pitch in the 69th minute and capped off the scoring spree in the 84th minute with a tap-in from a cross by Hazza Yateem, completing the emphatic 12-2 scoreline.
RIT Dubai’s comprehensive victory was built on a solid defensive base, creative midfield play, and clinical finishing from a variety of players. The 3-1-4-2 formation allowed them to dominate possession and create numerous scoring opportunities, which they converted with ruthless efficiency. The substitutions injected fresh energy and maintained the team’s attacking impetus throughout the match.
Curtin struggled to contain the relentless pressure and were punished repeatedly for defensive lapses. Despite their two goals, they were comprehensively outplayed in this friendly at HCT, which served as a statement of intent from RIT Dubai ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
