The sides hadn’t met before and it took a slow start for either team to settle into the game.

With player availability being a season low for the Arrows it meant a re-structure to the attack with two fullbacks playing in the attacking positions. Page being one of them, thrived for the chance and was a threat to the Hastings back line. His consistent runs at the full back eventually led him to win a penalty.

Cusden stepped up, but couldn’t find the net in his usual manner. A great save and good rebound press from the arrows made for another possible penalty, but ref waved play on.

Booth had a great chance in the box close range with a volley that came across his body. Connected brilliantly and Youth’s keeper made another great save.

Frustrations rose between the teams and the game became very stop-start allowing neither side to gain their rhythm. Page was sin binned and yellow cards were emerging.

In the final moments of the game it was the Arrows who looked to have the odds to score. It took the 90+ minute for Williams to beautifully bend the ball around the Hastings defender to hit the corner of the net.

Celebrations were emphatic from Williams and the team.

A great fought game from both sides and could have been anyone’s win on the day.
