South City FC hosted Super Rangers FC at Prison Primary on 5 July 2026, with kick-off at 11:40pm in a league fixture. The match ended in a 3-0 defeat for South City FC after a dominant display from the visitors.

South City FC lined up in a 4-3-3 formation, aiming to balance defensive solidity with attacking width. The back four consisted of Fabian Otieno at right back, Malachi Ade and Bedan Muchiri as central defenders, and L Glen on the left. In midfield, Dennis Baraza occupied the central role, supported by Manucho Kupany on the right and Alvin Lole on the left, tasked with both defensive duties and supplying the front line. Up front, the trio featured Georges Mbeumo on the right wing, Rodney Korir leading the line as striker, and Lewis Victor operating on the left flank. The substitutes available were Alex Matsaki, Sam Kiptoo, and Kenneth Mutisya.

The match began with Super Rangers FC asserting early pressure, which paid dividends in the 21st minute when they opened the scoring. South City’s defence was breached as the visitors capitalised on a lapse, putting them ahead. The visitors doubled their lead just nine minutes later, in the 30th minute, further unsettling the home side and forcing South City to chase the game.

Despite efforts to regain composure, South City FC could not find a way back before the break, and the first half concluded with Super Rangers comfortably in front. The home side’s midfield struggled to impose themselves, allowing the visitors to control the tempo and create chances.

The second half saw Super Rangers extend their advantage in the 61st minute, scoring a third goal that effectively sealed the contest. South City FC’s defensive line was again exposed, and the visitors took full advantage to increase their lead.

In response, South City FC made a triple substitution shortly after the hour mark to inject fresh energy into the side. At the 71st minute, Alex Matsaki replaced Georges Mbeumo on the right wing, while Sam Kiptoo came on for striker Rodney Korir. A minute later, Kenneth Mutisya was introduced for Lewis Victor on the left flank. These changes aimed to revitalise the attack and provide more impetus going forward.

However, despite the fresh legs, South City FC were unable to break down the resolute Super Rangers defence or reduce the deficit. The visitors maintained control and saw out the remainder of the match comfortably.

Ultimately, South City FC were left to rue missed opportunities and defensive frailties that allowed Super Rangers FC to dominate and secure a comprehensive 3-0 victory at Prison Primary.
