JC Tackleway II 1 vs 3 St. Leonard's Social II

Social travelled the short distance to barley lane for there third league game of the season against Tackleway.

A changed line up meant 1st starts of the season were awarded to Dean Pegman, Ash McCann, Terry Smith and making his debut Paul “Superman” Feakins. Social started brightly creating several good chances before Tony Atkin beat several players before slotting the ball past the keeper.

The score could and should have been more before Pegman fired in from long range to double the lead. Against the run of play just before half time a Tackleway corner was turned in to his own goal by George Murray to make it 2-1 at half time.

A planned positive team talk changed to a few stern words meant Social came out on the front foot. Again like the first two games several clear chances were missed. With the goalkeeper and the woodwork preventing a 3rd, planned changes were held back until Paul Feakins managed to slot past the keeper to make the game 3-1. Overall a good display all round but still plenty to work on to reach the level the team is capable off.

Mikey Holland’s with a solid midfield display was just pipped to the man of the match by Tony Atkin. Donkey of the week was Michael Shaw ??
