Robertsbridge IIs 0 vs 8 St. Leonard's Social II

A good day at the office for Social on Saturday saw the boys in blue return to winning ways after last weeks draw.

Social started slow and were fortunate not to go 1 down early on when an in swinging corner had to be turned smartly onto the post by Alex. This sprung Social into life and they started to create a few good chances. Eventually after good work by Ash McCann the ball fell to Gavin Ramsden to fire social into the lead.

One became two after a deep corner was brilliantly met by Johnnie Walker with a bullet header into the roof of the net. It remained that way till half time.

With the boys urged to improve in the second half Social done exactly that, creating several clear chances. A beautiful long range strike from Micheal “Victor Meldrew” Shaw made it 3-0. However the turning point came when Mikey Holland’s, who is becoming a magnet to abuse, was elbowed by a Robertsbridge player which saw them rightly reduced to 10 men. A brace from Oscar Hammond and a Tony Atkin hat-trick gave Social a comfortable 8-0 win.

Some solid performances throughout but Man of the Match went to Johnnie Walker with Donkey of the Match going to Damien March for a classic up and under pass and managing to get booked when it was easier to score!!!
