Home league match played on 31 October 2015.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

This weeks match report is a lot shorter !...with our new scribe Lisa missing and hubby Terry holding the flag due to Jasons long term injury and Paul knackered from diving around pre match....I forgot...and was too engrossed in the match trying to ensure everyone got a run out ...or was it because my head was in my hands with the disbelief of how everything we spoke about before the game started was forgotten??!?...

Yes we had beaten Droitwich twice in recent weeks - and yes we did mix things up a little to give some others a run out, but nearly everyone was 2nd best to the ball on most occassions.

I can't keep telling you - 2nd best to the ball never wins !

Amber once again showed everyone what a really great player she is - and I apologise if I embarass her by putting it in print !....But, she never gives up and quietly goes about her business. It cannot be underestimated how much confidence she gives to the team. Her efforts to track back and clear the ball off the line were clear for everyone to see and she stopped a certain goal !....We will be installing HAWKEYE next week at the Droitwich Managers request !

Then from a superb corner by Anna - Amber stuck a bullet header away ot give us the lead ! 1-0 Wow ! Not many girls attack a ball like that.

In parts we did play some good football - and it would be wrong for me to tarnish what was another win that keeps us in 2nd place in the League.

There was some industrious play up the flanks from Leah and Georgia.

The defence looked reasonably secure depsite the changes - and I am greatful for Beth playing out of position at left back. Clearly, Beth is more at ease on the right - but she is a natural footballer and all the girls should be looking to play with both feet.

Both Amy and Samantha filled in at left back for periods - and Amy looked strong when she came on linking with Georgia.

Stacey was unleashed from the bench and soon found herself in the thick of it as usual with a penalty claim !...injuring herself in the process....but fair play to the Droitwich striker for saying to her Manager it wasn't a penalty !

Olivia was fighting for everything and had given her all before making way for Tia.

Ciara was trying to build on her confidence and fitness and did well - once again narrowly missing out on a goal but showing some nice link up play.

Rhea was solid in midfield alongside Hannah - and Rhea although oming off at half time - came back on to see out the last 10 minutes.

Droitwich got back into the game making it 1-1 after the break with a failure to clear the ball from a corner.

But, super sub this week was once again Tia who got us out of jail and has righlty earned herself a starting berth next week. A well taken individual goal turning on a six pence and tucking it away.

A nervous last 10 minutes....a few orders shouted out by Mike Bassett saw us through. Phew !

No girl of the game awarded this week by the parents.

Next week sees us play Bedworth in The County Cup at HOME. They play in the Leicestershire League and beat Redditch in the last round.

We need more effort , more concentration , do the simple things well and be 1st to the ball everytime !
