The SSAFC sealed their first win of the London Cup campaign with a 10-5 victory away at Cambridge at Coleridge School,

The SSAFC started on top and wasted chances with Wedge missing some good chances before the hosts took the lead when a long ball over the top found their striker who slotted over the advancing Teale in goal. The SSAFC then had their first of 3 penalties when the Cambridge player was guilty of handing the ball in the box but Wedge saw his penalty saved by their keeper. Cambridge then doubled the lead when the striker got to the byline before beating Barker and slotting in the near post to make it 2-0 and a change as Teale came out of goal.

The change worked at the SSAFC got one back from a free kick when Teale hit it low into the far corner. Cambridge then got a third goal when the ball wasnt cleared and their midfield smashed it low into the far corner. The SSAFC then got into another gear and got a way back into the game when Swales floated in a lovely cross for Wedge to scissor kick the ball in via the bar to make it 3-2. It shortly became 3-3 when good work from Wedge on the wing crossed in for Swales who smashed the ball in from 6 yards despite the best efforts of the keeper. The SSAFC then took the lead for the first time when a Wedge effort was parried into Deards who had the easiest of chances to tap in and made it 4-3. The SSAFC got another just before half time when Wedge was taken out in the box for another penalty and Teale stepped up and slotted into the corner to make it 5-3 going into the break.

The second half started well with the SSAFC not letting up and got another goal when Wedge got to the byline and his cross found Teale who smashed in to give him his hat-trick and make it 6-3. Cambridge kept going and got a 4th when the ball was crossed in and their striker found room and smashed it home to make it 6-4. Wedge then got his second when good build up play found Wedge and he cooly slotted home to make it 7-4. It became 8 and Wedge got his hat trick when his brother Jeorge got to the byline and floated a cross in for Wedge to power a header into the far corner.

The SSAFC wasted some good chances with Wedge having an effort blocked and Swales having an effort tipped over before Swales got his second and a bit of class for Jeorge Wedge on the wing who whipped in a glorious cross for Swales to run on and his finish was one of class to make it 9-4. Swales then got taken out in the box for a third penalty but missed the chance to seal his hat-trick with the Cambridge keeper saving low.

Dunn then had a powerful strike hit the post and Jeorge had a header go over before Cambridge themselves got a penalty which was a very soft one at best with the player sending Teale the wrong way who went back in goal. The SSAFC hit 10 with the last kick when Carroll set up Deards who smashed home to give him his second of the game and finished the game 10-5.
