After a good away win in the reverse fixture the week before we came into the match with some confidence. However i'm afraid to say the boys largely didn't turn up for this one. Rossvale Academy FC 2010 were very good - determined, energetic and calm on the ball - however we made it far too easy for them. Not for the first time this season we lost a run of poor goals from our perspective. Going down 3-0 inside the first 20minutes. Losing 50/50s, not tracking runners and then leaving opponents unmarked in box. At any level of football that won't win you games - especially against a highly motivated league rival.

There's two sides to every football match and we just didn't work hard enough off the ball to win the match. Rossvale were first to most 2nd balls, pressed us better and we just didn't do the same to them. We left them with too much time in possession and all good sides will take advantage if you do that.

After the first 20mins we did steady the ship to a degree but the damage was done. The next goal in 2nd half was then crucial and we didn't get it - the Rossvale attacker waltzing through 3 challenges before an easy cutback for a tap in. Max did pull one back from a Ross through ball but too little too late. We pushed forward trying to get back into game but increasingly left gaps at back - which Rossvale exploited well. As we approach adult football it's important the boys learn to dig in during tough moments - and that's the main lesson from today.

Well done to the visitors - well deserved from them at weekend and they should great attitude to bounce back from the previous fixture. Something we'll need to do in our next couple of fixtures.

MOTM - outside Emmanuel's positive showing first half, and Haris stepping up well in 2nd half there weren't a lot of contenders today. Given we didn't really have an 80min perfromance across the team we couldn't justify a MOTM this week.
