Home league match played on 19 October 2013.
Kicked off at 11:15 AM

Although we expected to win this match we were also eager not to concede any goals at home and this proved to be yet another exciting match to watch.  We started to attack right from the kick off and kept the pressure on Warrington for the entire game. The match produced a true team performance with everyone keeping their shape for most of the game and playing very well together to help seal the win.  Although Warrington had a few decent runs forward they didn't really look like scoring in this match as everyone did their best to stop them progressing on our goal.

Katie and Tom swapped positions for this game and this proved to be a good decision as Katie continually battled forward and had a few decent attempts on goal and Tom proved to be a midfield dynamo, chasing the ball at every opportunity and putting in some great runs forward.  We were pleased with everyone's performance today and we saw some very strong runs from every player at one point or another.  Travis was great at attacking the Warrington goal and thoroughly deserved his hat-trick today although his second goal was slightly nicked off a fantastic shot by Dominic who gained himself the parents choice for player of the match! Ethan made some truly fantastic through-balls when he was on the pitch and we were very unlucky not to score from more than one of them, and Jacob had clearly listened to us when he made some nice little runs forward and used his shoulder to good effect to allow him to fire off a couple of decent attempts.

Daniel is becoming more confident in defence and is standing strong in his tackles and Thomas is showing more confidence when making runs forward with the ball, putting in a beautiful through ball to help seal Trav's third goal. Kurtis and Ben are both looking stronger each week in midfield and Ben in particular was very unlucky not to get on the end of a nice cross and slot the ball into the net near the end of the first half. Marc did what he does best and completely shut out the warrington attack on his side of the pitch at almost every chance they had to come forward and Jako commanded his area in his usual authoritative way. Although he didn't need to do much in this game, whenever he was called upon, he put in a great performance.

A number of players were unlucky not to score including Joe who ran his legs off today and used his speed to full advantage gaining himself the coaches man of the match award having listened to everythig we'd said in training and producing it on the pitch.

We felt we'd used our substitutes well in this game and although some players had slightly less time on the pitch we tried to make sure the changes were done to help the overall team performance.  We'll try to make sure that time on the pitch evens itself out over the season.

We were complemented by the Warington coach at the end of the match for a great team performance and at how well the team kept it's shape and told that we must be very proud of them.  Truly we are as everyone is clearly starting to listen to us during training sessions and it is starting to show on the pitch and being noticed by others in the process.  Well done everyone!

Thanks to everyone for playing well and to all our parents for their continued support.
