Home friendly match played on 28 March 2013.
Kicked off at 6:20 PM

With Porto looking to easter sat very pretty in their league with 2 wins and 2 draws and with a weekend off, what better way to go into the break with a game against your top bracket, inter club, age group rivals TUSA Arsenal..

What would make this more interesting is that Coach had vowed to play every player out of position and in every position before the final whistle. SO, this clearly would play into the advatage of the TU Arsenal boys who were playing it straight, except for not having a keeper or their star striker to hand.

With Coach staying true to his word, the Porto lineup looked very different, but this didn't stop Porto getting into their stride fastest and opening the scoring with a goal of Michael Owen World Cup 1998 v Argentina from our normally defensive grappler Bennie to set Porto on their way. In truth, their was very little times that Porto looked out of sorts and despite Coach changing the players every 3 minutes and sending lads back on in different positions, Porto looked solid and determined to the task. Arsenal did exploit a little frailty however for their goal when three quickly broke past the Porto back line and despite David making an excellent tip onto the bar, Arsenal were their to header in the rebound. HT 1-1

At the half, Coach reminded the boys of one fundamental lesson to be followed to the letter... HAVE FUN!!

So on with the second half and Porto again got straight back into the swing of things and could have took an early lead if Owen 'this 6 yard box scares me' Pinto hadn't of skied another open goal over the bar.. That said, Nick clearly felt sorry for Owen, so not to show it was a solo issue, decided to do likewise. With Remi in the net, Porto looked commanding and solid and took the lead again through David with a bizarre goal which left the Arsenal stand in keeper a little red faced.. Well his shirt was red.. Porto looked again comfortable, but it was more coaches fault that led to the Arsenal second goal as with a keeper change whilst Arsenal were on the attack led to a fumble and an equalizer. Still staying true to the rotation promised pre game, Coach was still making changes, still putting lads in unfamiliar roles and still Porto were looking the better side. Well it was with a set piece and putting together two topica trained within the past 7 days into effect when Nicholas whipped in a corner and David was quick to use his head to steer the ball home. With Coach changing tactics and Arsenal getting wind of this thanks to public announcer Max, the Porto side looked to see out the final few minutes to claim a moral boosting victory against a gold TU side. FT 3-2

MVP

No matter where he was and what he did, Bennie was on fire tonight and looked every bit the classic player he had been promoted to be!! Not just today, but in the past 3 games, Bennie has been on fire and he was rewarded today with a goal that Kevin, David or Cole would be proud of! Well Done

HAPPY EASTER FOLKS!! DON'T EAT TOO MUCH CHOCOLATE!!! ELSE WE SHALL DO FITNESS ALL NEXT WEEK ;o)
