Home league match played on 07 September 2013.
Kicked off at 1:30 PM

After the mornings humbling, Porto was back to Efland to face KSA Black. With the words of focus and learn from the TYSA game ringing in the Porto ears, there would be hope of a more fighting display from the boys this afternoon.

The game kicked off and it was clear that Porto were more up for the battle and out to prove a point. With a change in formation from the mornings setup, Porto looked more in control of the game and their opponents were unable to find as many holes as they could in the morning’s game. Porto could have and should have took the lead early on when the great runs of Max W and Thomas were proving problematic for the KSA backline, but they were not to break the deadlock. It was on the counter attack and against the run of play that KSA took the lead with a quick moving play that saw the defence and Dani in goal with little chance. Porto was not beat and they still attacked with energy. Porto got their reward through a goal (now I can't remember who scored this or assisted, so whoever know, then please get back to me) HT 1-1

The game was finally balanced and in truth probably should have gone Porto’s way as the second got underway

In the second half, Porto again were being the more dominant and were camped virtually the entire game in KSA half, but they just couldn't get the power behind the shot or accuracy to take the lead. It was with the cruelest of fates that occurred next for poor Dani in goal when a excellent save led to a fumble that Dani just couldn't get his hands around for the KSA striker to be in the right place to tap in the rebound. (Dani, you saved us on about a thousand other occasion’s, so you can have that one loll Despite this setback, Porto still pounded away at KSA, but despite their dominance, they just couldn't break through and came out of the game with a agonizing defeat. FT 1-2

COACHES THOUGHTS

I would have liked to see that Porto side take on TYSA!! So much more fight, energy and grit to battle and not let the opponent have their way. Despite playing again a top #20 team in the state, Porto this time were aware, awake and wanting!! That showed in the difference and by rights, Porto should have got something out of the game!! Very pleased with the improvement
