Home league match played on 22 April 2012.
Kicked off at 10:45 AM

The UNITS took on Cally this morning with Cuzer having 15 to chose from but some still carrying knocks as we lined up as follows

Mala, Chinner, Lacey, Eggy, Kirbs, Baker, Coco, Turner, Pountney, Ross & Hunter
Bench was Marcus, Penna, Jim and Barney

The UNITS were a little slow onto the pitch due to the strap surpassing himself by bringing the wet, unwashed kit from Thursday nights game..walking past the clean, washed kit en route to the front door! One job!

Cally had players missing and all in all it was a comfortable win for the UNITS with the game being played at a training game pace and pretty much one way towards the Cally goal from the off

It took the UNITS 10 minutes to open the scoring when some good work down our left resulted in Lacey getting into the box and prodding the ball past the on-rushing keeper with Ross following up to tap home

5 minutes later it was two when Coco fed Pountney who did well to beat his man and whip in a cross shot which deflected in off the Cally defender, Farron claiming the goal

Disappointingly the UNITS didn't add to the scoring prior to half time when we had numerous opportunities, Chinner forced one great reflex save from the Cally keeper, Hunter, Turner, Ross and Lewis all went close, even Baker crossing the halfway line to have two shots blocked but we came in at HT cruising 2-0

Cuzer asked the boys for a bit more urgency in our play, our approach play was good but a little one paced and we really should have got more goals in the first 45

It only took 5 minutes for us to add to the scoring, after a lively start to the half when we pegged Cally back a lovely one two between Coco and Hunter resulted in Coco being put free however with the goal at his mercy he shot at the keepers legs before Turner headed home the loose ball from inside the 6 yard box

Our 4th was a nice goal from Pountney, again a slick 1-2 was played with Hunter and Pountney accelerated away from the full back before slamming the ball home from 12 yards

The half was one way traffic yet we gifted Cally a goal when Turner missed the initial header then Eggy let the ball go under his foot leaving the Cally striker to stroke past Mala from 8 yards

Hunter got the 5th his own game deserved when after some pinball in the Cally box Turner fed Hunter who finished left footed from 8 yards

Mala then made a smart save as Cally again caught us napping at the back

Our 6th came from a Pountney corner when Hunter headed back across goal and Eggy headed home from 6 yards

A very comfortable win for the UNITS against a flat Cally side, could and should have scored a few more but an important 3 points to keep our good recent form going

Man of the match went to Pountney who oozed class when we got him on the ball in the right areas
