The UNITS once again were in double header action this time traveling to Wilden

Wilden couldn't muster a side last week and we're on the verge of folding yet after some rallying around are now carrying on and mustered 17 players for this mornings games so gaffer Cuzer warned the lads to expect the unexpected from Wilden and be on their toes from the off
The first game we lined up
Mala, Eggy, Gilo, Darbs, Taylor, Ashton, Baker, Coco, Acer, Azza & Pountney
Subs were Kieron P, Barney, Si Hollick, Trigger & Ross

The UNITS took the lead with only 44 seconds on the clock., Taking advantage of the small pitch Taylor launched a throw into the box, their keeper flapped at the ball and Acer pounced on the rebound to smash home from 8 yards

The UNITS were moving the ball around nicely and chances were coming thick and fast, on 7 minutes we went 2-0 up from a Mala goal kick their centre half misjudged the flight and helped the ball back towards the keeper, alas for him Pountney was on it in a flash, rounded the keeper and slid the ball into the unguarded net for a 2-0 cushion
It was one way traffic, Ashton, Pountney and Azza all threatened again whilst at the other end bar a mad panic when Tayl's got caught in possession and Eggy managed to slice against his own post we were looking in the main very comfortable

On 15 minutes Coco and Azza combined well down the left, Azza skipping to the byeline, as Azza pulled the ball back Darbs still up from an earlier throw ran onto the ball and was challenged from behind the ball going inches wide. Alas straight away Darbs was in pain and all our worst fears were confirmed when we witnessed a shocking broken ankle. The game was held up for over an hour as we waited for the ambulance to arrive, genuinely gutted for the big man after just coming back from his knee injury and we all wish him a speedy recovery, bad times!

When we got back underway Barney replaced Darbs and both games were reduced to 25 minutes each way due to the lost time

Credit to the UNITS despite the setback we picked up where we left off, Ashton doing well down the right and playing in Azza who fired in low to register his first goal for the UNITS

Coco was having a fine game down the left and this time Pountney turned provider skinning his man and laying the ball back for Coco to finish from 8 yards as we came in at HT 4-0

Early in the second half we won a corner and from Coco's delivery Pountney got in front of his man to head home at the near post to put us 5-0 up

Cuzer then made 2 changes, taking off Azza and Pountney to save them for game two and brought on the fresh legs of Ross & Si Hollick with Ashton going up top

We continued to create a host of chances, Ross the most unlucky when after some slick play he chipped the keeper from 20 yards only to see the ball land against the inside of the post. Coco then skied a pull back from all of 3 yards with the goal gaping and Acer was sent clear only to drag his chance wide when he should have scored

Wilden finished strongly, didn't create a lot but came into the game as the UNITS eased off the gas a bit and the game finished 5-0 to the visitors

Man of the match went to Ashton who displayed superb energy in the middle of the park and was involved in a lot of our best moves
