forestdale knights 1 vs 1 Unique FC U9

Good Morning All,

Please see my thoughts from yesterday below.

First of all, well done to all for getting through. As much as I feel we should be competing in the Gold, it is still a great achievement to get into the final of the Silver.

I thought we started the game brilliantly yesterday and had totally control on a difficult pitch. It was near on a 5 a side pitch which was extremely overgrown and bobbly. But in that first 1/4 I thought we moved it really well. Oscar and Avery I thought you both were really patient in how you combined with each other to get out of pressure from their 9 to then go forwards.

Sidney I want you to be a little careful with emptying midfield too early, too often throughout the game you were running higher too early (probably down to the distances being different however).

From the 2nd period onwards I thought the game got really messy, neither team had control of the game but I felt that suited them more than us. Their shape gave problems early on but when we matched it up I thought we dealt with it well. Avery I thought 1v1 you were outstanding Sunday, you dealt with their big physical boy really well.

When we do occasionally change into that shape boys, I want to see our cm's doing more to get on the ball. I thought as the game went on we all started to lack a bit of bravery to get loose and find the ball. We haven't worked on that shape granted, but Sidney and Teddy, I thought you both could've done a little more to get the ball off of Simeon and Avery and stop us going longer.

Simeon, I thought you made some good saves throughout the game and massively stepped up for the shoot out! Well done Sim!!

Well done to all who stepped up also boys, looking forward to the final now! Good work boys.
