Good Morning All,

Parents:

Yesterday was a clear reminder of why we ask parents not to coach from the sidelines. During periods 2–4 especially, the level of noise and instructions coming from the side really seemed to affect the boys. A few of them lost their composure, and it was obvious they were becoming overloaded with information.

I completely understand how easy it is to get caught up in the moment, particularly with the opposition being so vocal, but it did feel like we all got drawn into it a bit.

There were even moments where I held back from saying anything because the boys already had too much coming at them, and some were visibly reacting in frustration.

Just a reminder going forward, please keep the sideline support to encouragement only.

Thank you.

Match Report:

Boys really disappointing performance yesterday. Forget the result, even if we had somehow come out of that game with a win, I would've still been really disappointed

I actually thought we started the game well, 1-0 up and fairly comfortable. Teddy, first period I thought you were getting the better of their full back really well. I thought we were going to go on and really put that game away.

However, from the 2nd period onwards, we just couldn't complete a pass. I never seen us act in such a panicked way? Now to be fair to you boys, there was a lot of noise and it was noticeable how it affected you. I just felt we couldn't get out from the back but also couldn't find that bit of composure in the final third. We kept giving the ball away and a lot of the times with no pressure on the ball.

I thought our press really started to struggle later in the game but that would be down to not having the fresh legs from the side, especially in the sun yesterday. They consistently dribbled past us with ease which we really struggled to deal with.

The game was played at a really high intensity which I do feel caught us in the end, which shows with their late goals. But, It would've been nice to see some of you look to take the heat out of the game but completing a pass when you do have them moments in a game like that with no pressure around you.

One to learn from boys. We go into an exciting couple of weeks against more good opposition.

See majority of you at Futsal

Ollie
