Unique Fc U9s Reds 0 vs 0 Nexgen Black

Good morning all,

After a great result against Tulse Hill, we backed it up with another strong performance. Every player contributed positively and should all be very proud of themselves. Carter and Blake dictated the game from the pivot position which really allowed us to play our football and get in some great goal scoring positions.

We started the first quarter very sharply which was in contrast to the week before which allowed us to be dominant throughout the game.

First goal coming from a good strike from Blake after stepping in and driving in to the space.

Followed by another wonderful strike from the half way line by Lennon.

The third goal I particularly liked, as the ball went out of play Lennon didn’t wait for the other team, got his eyes up and played a lovely ball across the box for Josh to tap in at the far post. It is this quick thinking and being switched on at all times that will be very beneficial for the team.

We started the 2nd quarter a bit slower but quickly picked up our rhythm and dominated the ball. Again it was great to see our ability to use our depth and link passes when we couldn’t play forward straight away to create space and passing lanes in the next phase.

Some of the ball striking on display was of real quality, Caspian, Vinnie and Josh all scoring thunderbolts.

It was a real collective team performance as we worked hard to win the ball back high up the pitch. Our 6th goal being an example of this with Cole assisting Vinnie.

We still need to continue to work on our shape when playing out from goal kicks and when we do have to use our pivot or sweeper how quickly can our wide players get high and wide to provide options.

Another big week ahead but keep up the hard work and the intensity boys. We have tougher challenges ahead so it’s very important we maintain our standards and prepare in the best way possible. Let’s keep up the momentum!

See you all on Friday!
