Ventolin returned to form with a hard fought 2-1 victory against the Fat Boys last night.

The match saw the return of Ventolin legends Adam Ransom and Tony Dain who have both been out for nearly 5 months. Along with Ventolin super goal keeper Andy BArton returning to his place between the posts.  Dark horses striker John Archdeacon who was signed in the winter transfer window and is now a fully fledge ventolin player and regular made up the starting 5.  New signing Lawrence Lon started his first game on the bench..

The match started well for ventolin with Plass and Dain controlling the pace of the game form the back.. as the passing continued Ranson and Archdeacon began to weave their magic higher up the pitch.

After one such break ransom found archdeacon with a sublime pass, who then finished in style to open the scoring. Ventolin continued to pass the ball around and rarely looked in danger of conceding ... further chances were created, first dain played in archdeacon after a mazy run from defence, only for the in form striker to slide the ball into the waiting keepers clutches. Ranson also had an excellent chance to double the score after good work from Plass. New signing Lawrence almost made an immediate impact with a long range strike that went just past the keepers post.

As the half time whistle blew ventolin had played well but with only a one goal lead there was still much to be done to ensure the 3 points were collected !

The second half started at quite a pace, with the fat boys determined to get back into the game, putting pressure on to the Ventolin defence, who had to make several last ditch interceptions to prevent clear shots on goal! While Barton pulled off the save of the match when he managed to divert a shot with his feet as he was diving the other way..  as the game continued the fat boys finally got their reward - after breaking clear the lone striker, managed to angle his shot past Barton in the inhalers goal!

This seemed to spur ventolin on, with several chances created.. Dain played in archdeacon only for the keeper to again foil the striker..

Plass also went close with a fine strike from 20 yards, before Dain curled a superb pass behind the defence, for lawrence to control brilliantly, unfortunately the finish was not as good as the control...  As Ventolin continued to press, BArton made a crazy break from his goal, running the length of the pitch only to see his cross field pass intercepted leading to a fat boys break, although the striker pulled his shot way wide of the goal.

As the clock ticked down and it looked like both sides would have to settle for a point, Ransom found plass, who with skill and determination held of the last defender befoere unleashing a fine stike into the corner of the net...

With seconds left the fat boys had just enough time to kick off before the ref blew his whistle to conclude what had been an exciting and close game.

After the match man of the match Adam Ransom spoke to sky sports " im just glad to be back playing again.. it was a good start although i feel there is much more to come from us all once we get out fitness back"

Next week the opposition are Brighton Arthritic...
