Home league match played on 27 February 2012.
Kicked off at 7:20 PM

Ventolin approached this game knowing their opposition had lost every game by at least 10 goals.  This fact in itself was making it harder for ventolin to focus on the job in hand, knowing a similar winning margin should all but secure the premiership title.

These concerns were soon allayed with a four goals in the first five minutes, providing Ventolin with a match winning cushion. By half time it was 8-0 and with a perfect sense of symmetry Ventolin added a further eight second half goals to finish 16-0 Victors in what was one of the most one sided games in Ventolins illustrious history. It would be no exaggeration to say that had Ventolin converted the many chances they created they could have won by another 10 goals.

Leading scorer John Archdeacon led the rout with seven, ably supported by Loz Robinson with four, Tony Dain and Andy Ross with two each and a single goal for Joe Plass completed the scoring.

So how to sum up this game in a few short words.

Firstly congratulations must got to Five Skins, who have turned up week after week regardless of how well beaten they have been. Tonight they tried to score right up to the final whistle and to be fair probably deserved a goal for their efforts. Hopefully next season will offer them the opportunity to improve against less formidable opponents.

Ventolin coasted, although to still score 16 and not concede showed a level of ruthless discipline associated with championship winning teams.

John Archdeacon did what was expected and led the scoring with seven, this through a combination of fine finishing and the ocassional scuff. An excellent return for a player who has blossomed over the last 12 months and is now an established premiership striker.

Loz Robinson looked like he could score every time he had the ball, and did so on four ocassions, as well as setting up four more. Oozes quality and adds real threat to the inhalers attack.

Joe Plass was his usual composed and creative self, contributing six assists and the final goal of the game thanks to one of Andy Bartons many excellent through balls. Barton was heard to say he could have had a hatrick of assists had Plass been more clinical. Hats off to keeper Barton who spent much of the match as a spectator, although as the game progressed was seen edging further forward.

Andy Ross managed to return to scoring ways, although after an initial early miss, there were questions around confidence levels after a few weeks without a goal. These were soon dismissed with two tidy finishes and another excellent all round performance.

Tony Dain maintained his goal scoring form with two more, as well as weighing in with four assists in a display that never needed to get out of second gear.

All in all Ventolin were comfortable winners and have at least had some good practice in preparation for the season finale against rivals fairlight garage.

A late news flash has just confirmed Ventolin are this seasons new premiership champions.
