Home league match played on 22 February 2015.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

United took on the Jolly Potters for the first time this season hoping to continue the performances from the past couple of games. Unfortunately though United didn't get started and Potters took the lead on 6 minutes when a corner was flicked on at the near post and met with a bullet header from 3 yards out.

Potters were dominating the game and United couldn't keep a hold of possession and Potters doubled their lead on 20 mins when a through ball was miskicked by Stephen Sheriff and the Potters player skipped past keeper Steve Barnes and rolled the ball towards goal. Stu Bowman tried his hardest to keep it out with a sliding challenge but the referee adjudged the ball to have crossed the line.

United then had the chance to half the deficit from the penalty spot on 25 minutes. Dan Musther picked up the ball on the right wing and skipped into the box. it looked like he had lost the ball but was then tripped and the referee awarded the penalty. Stephen Sheriff stepped up and made amends for his earlier mistake by sending the keeper the wrong way.

Potters regained their 2 goal advantage on 35 minutes when United again struggled to deal with a Potters corner and it was superbly curled into the far corner from just inside the box

Potters should have been 4-1 up after 60 minutes but Stu Bowman kept United in the game with not one but two goalline clearances and a minute later United should have scored when Scott Stevenson released Dan Musther and he made another great run down the right wing but shot wide at the near post. On 63 minutes it could have got worse for United when Stu Bowman miskicked a long ball and the striker was one on one with keeper Steve Barnes but he managed to save the shot to prevent the goal

Then a big moment of controversy occured. United had a corner which Dan Musther swung in and Stephen Sheriff met with a great header but he put it over. All of a sudden the referee blew his whistle and was pointing to the spot. Neither team knew what was going on and were both bemused by the decision but United had a second penalty. Stephen Sheriff stepped up again and went the other way and placed it into the bottom corner perfectly clipping the post on the way in giving the keeper no chance.

United thought they had levelled on 76 minutes when Dan Musther went on another mazy run and pulled it back from the byline to Chris Brown but his shot agonisingly hit the outside of the post

United though got the equaliser 2 minutes later. Stephen Sheriff pinged a superb pass down the right wing releasing man of the match Dan Musther. Dan cut inside and made no mistake this time as he curled a brilliant shot into the net

On 84 minutes Dan Musther was again involved and his superb shot was tipped onto the bar by the Potters keeper. The rebound fell to Scott Stevenson and he took a touch before slamming the ball into the roof of the net from 10 yards to put United ahead for the first time in the game

A minute later United went 2 goals ahead. Michael Earles passing to Scott Stevenson who released Liam Huntrod down the left wing. Liam ran from nearly the half way line into the Potters box before finishing neatly to score his first United goal

Liam's second goal for the club didn't take long to arrive when on 88 minutes he won a tackle with the Potters right back and ran at goal again. The shot wasn't the best and the keeper should probably have saved it but it bobbled up and over his foot and gave United a 3 goal lead and that's how it finished
